Applying the Startup Approach to Sailing Around the World

About the event

Join us to hear the true story of the Translated 9‘s journey in the face of adversity. After suffering critical damage that threatened to end their participation in the Ocean Globe Race, the crew found themselves in the remote Falkland Islands. With limited resources, they managed to repair their boat in a remarkable display of determination and ingenuity.

The Ocean Globe Race is a round-the-world race that limits the use of technology and professionals on board to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first Whitbread Round the World Race. Translated, the founding company of Pi Campus, is taking part in the race to prove that when you team up with people with extraordinary values and attitudes, you can achieve what others think is impossible. When the crew broke the hull on the 3rd of 4 legs, Translated 9 was leading the race by more than 3 days.

This event is for anyone who appreciates the raw truth behind overcoming challenges. It’s about the reality of setbacks, the ingenuity of crisis, and the sheer will to carry on against all odds. You’ll come away with a new perspective on what it means to face difficulties head-on and keep moving forward, no matter what happens.

A Fireside Chat
About Startup Culture

It will be a no-holds-barred account of Translated 9’s journey back to the race. Hear directly from our founder and Translated 9 co-skipper, Marco Trombetti, on how he applied startup culture to keep the team focused, fix the hull breach, and get back in the race.

Marco will be interviewed by journalist and innovator Riccardo Luna, editor-in-chief of Italian Tech, who will dig Marco into the details of the repair and help us understand how we can be inspired to apply startup culture in other different situations.
