Pi Day 2020 HackParty

Digging into π will bring you to the innermost workings of our universe. So, let’s celebrate it! Every year we have a party in honor of the beautiful irrationality of π, with a hackathon inside. For our startups it’s an opportunity to meet talented developers while having some fun.

During the event, coders will learn how to build products people will love and how to develop a results-focused approach.

Join a one evening hackathon, take on smart coders like you, and meet growing startups.

Branding for Startups

This is a startup founders meetup. During the meetup, we will hold a seminar in which attendees will learn how branding can help you get customers, talent, and investors to buy into their venture. The event is invite-only, but we a few seats for friends so you can ask for an invitation.

HackNight at Pi 2019 – Adaptive UI Challenge

The next version of the Internet will be more and more human-centered and customized. For both designers and developers, one of the next challenges is to create dynamic interfaces that can optimize their usage based on the information available, the user who is visiting the page, and her behavior.

To anticipate these trends we have organized a meetup with the AI and Design communities, calling developers and designers to form teams, brainstorm solutions to real scenario issues, and come up with new ideas and challenges.

Understanding the Design Sprint methodology

Developed at Google Ventures, the Design Sprint methodology is a process that helps startup founders to design, prototype and get customers feedback on their business idea in just 5 days. It brings together business strategy, innovation, behavior science, design thinking, and more. On September, 17th, we are hosting a workshop for our startups and some guests organized by our friends at the Moze design studio.

Usability Testing Night

This event is organized with the contribution of Nois3, a creative studio specialized in developing visual concepts, digital strategies, web and mobile applications. The folks at Nois3 are the organizers of the World Usability Day in Rome too. The participation is limited to startups founders, designers and product owners. You can ask for an invitation here.

Artificial Intelligence and its Impact on Public Administration

The advent of artificial intelligence will bring on the table new and unexpected problematics and opportunities on which the legislator will be called to legislate. Or not. For this reason, Pi Campus merged with the Italian Parliament’s Intergroup on AI to organize a workshop for public administrators with the aim to inform Italian politicians on the most important aspects of the AI and provide them with some of the most important information required to face the new challenges.

Pi Networking with Luciano Pietronero and Walter Quattrociocchi

During this event, we will introduce you to two new scientific data-based theories that explain the new world we live in. The first one is the Economic Fitness and Complexity methodology, that can be used for monitoring, planning and forecasting the economic growth of companies, specific industries and, in general, the innovation and creativity process. The second theory describes the cognitive determinants behind misinformation and rumor spreading, and was already included in the Global Risk Report presented by the World Economic Forum. The event is invite-only. You can request an invitation here

Driving an Autonomous Future

Andrew Kouri

On Friday, June 28th we organize a founders meetup with Andrew Kouri, former developer of the Tesla autopilot, who left Elon Musk’s company to found lvl5, a company focusing on deep learning, computer vision, and maps for autonomous vehicles. lvl5 was backed by Y Combinator, and we invested in the startup during the W17 Demo Day. Andrew and his co-founders recently agreed to be acquired. During the meetup, Andrew will talk about the process of starting a company, working with co-founders, and eventually making the decision to sell a company.

These events are reserved to Pi Campus founders and our guests. If you were not invited, you can request an invitation here. Be aware that requesting an invitation does not guarantee an invitation from us.

Founders Meetup with Nicola Mattina

On Tuesday, June 25th we organize a founders meetup with Nicola Mattina, who recently sold Stamplay, the startup he co-founded with Giuliano Iacobelli, to Apple. Nicola will share with us the lessons he learned during his journey from starting up the company to deciding to sell it and, finally, selling to one of the leading companies of the technology ecosystem.
