Wanderio Raises Series A Investment from Europcar Group

We are glad to share with you that Wanderio, who joined Pi Campus in 2014, has just raised a Series A investment from Europcar Group, the European leader in vehicle rental services and a major player in mobility markets. We are happy to welcome Europcar Group among the investors in Wanderio.

Founded in 2013 by Matteo Colò, Luca Rossi and Disheng Qiu, Wanderio simplifies customers’ travel experience by providing the best transport solutions to go from point A to point B. On the same platform, travelers can seamlessly compare, combine and book tickets for trains, flights, buses and airport transfers, and, coming soon, also car rental offers.

The founders joined Pi Campus a few months after releasing their public beta, that was launched at TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin 2013. In 2015 Apple featured the Wanderio iOS App the same day of launch, and since then it has been mentioned as one of the best traveling apps by magazines and newspapers such as Forbes, Wired and Corriere della Sera.

With more than one million planned trips so far, mostly in 2016, Wanderio currently features connections to over 700 airports and more than 4.000 rail and bus stations.

Today the startup relies on a talented team of 16 engineers, marketers and customer experience specialists destined to growth in the next few months.

We are thrilled to welcome the Europcar Group as a new strategic partner – said Matteo Colò, CEO of Wanderio – This investment is an important endorsement of our vision and will enable us to accelerate Wanderio growth across Europe, expanding into new markets, and developing valuable synergies“.
